Book your permit well in advance so you can get close parking to the trail head. The dirt road to get there is approximately 14 miles and it's pretty rough in some places. That being said a car can make it but definitely better if you can take a truck.
Fossil creek is high on my list of places that need to be visited. Depending on how you get in-- it can be a little bit of a grueling hike. However, I think it's definitely worth it! Before you go you might want to consider giving the local Forest-Service station a call to check up on permits/traffic and get their advice. They were super helpful when we talked to them! Also, there definitely is trash along the trail. . . I'd reccomend packing a couple of garbage bags in-- then filling them up on the way out. You'll feel good and know that you're helping to keep this amazing place awesome!
awesome water falls. Cliff jumping from 25 feet. was a fun filled experience.
